Did you know that:

  • 70% of incoming sensory information is visual.
  • Seeing clearly (20/20) is just one of 17 or so visual skills that need to be developed in order to have efficient vision.
  • 1 in 4 children have a visual condition that may interfere with learning.
  • Studies have shown that 98% of juvenile delinquents have visual learning conditions.
  • Vision therapy is effective in adults as well as children.

There is an emerging wealth of information about how complex the visual system really is in terms of both operation and development.

The old model of thinking of it as a simple camera, where seeing clearly is paramount, is outdated and why many adults and children are left to struggle with the issues their visual conditions cause.

Watch Dr. McCrodan at TEDxVictoria 2014 in this short clip, as he explains these visual issues, and the impact they have.
